Sales Consigning
Furnace Mill Stud produces horses for all major sales in the United Kingdom. With a track record proven over many years your horse can be assured the best attention at home and the best of presentation and marketing at sales time. During the last decade Furnace Mill has produced numerous high priced sales horses including the top priced colt at Tattersalls Book 1. The same year achieving 310,000gns for homebred Pivotal filly, since named Princess Loulou. Trained by Rodger Varien, she became a stakes winner and group 1 placed. We topped the December Yearling Sale with the Rip Van Winkle colt pictured here for delighted owner breeder Richard Mosses. In 2018 we achieved 360,000 for our Frankel x Whatami colt since named Juan Elcano winner on debut and group 2 placed with high hopes for 2020.
Agents are invited to view any of the yearlings on farm in advance of the sale, by appointment with Trish.
Foal preparation time is at least 4-6 weeks.
Yearling preparation is 8-10 weeks.
Mares are 4 weeks.
The sales are a very demanding experience and require a horse to be physically and mentally ready. During prep we follow advice from our nutritionist who looks at each horse individually. We use our two undercover horse walkers, lunge arena and hand walking to increase strength and fitness. We practise showing and standing in readiness and groom each horse daily. Most importantly we have daily turnout allowing for much needed down time. We pride ourselves on the individual attention we are able give to each horse.
We will also meet horses from regular clients at the sales, to show and market them to their best advantage.
The horses will always be taken to the sales complex a few days in advance of the day they sell so that they can settle in and be viewed by prospective buyers. We employ some of the best staff at the sales to show your horse, ready and waiting for customers throughout all the daylight hours.

Breaking
We aim to give our horses the best well rounded education possible. We have a lunge ring and all-weather school where we initially start their education, before increasing strength and conditioning on hilly forest rides. Owners are kept up to date with photos and videos and are welcome to visit.
Spelling
Set in the tranquil heart of the Wyre Forest, where better to spend some time on R&R. We guarantee to follow vet or trainer guidance to the letter and owners are welcome at the farm any time to check in with their horses. Large rubber matted stables allow for box rest to be as comfortable as possible and nurseries are available for restricted turnout. Fresh grass will be picked for your horse if turnout is not possible because of injury, along with daily grooming.
